Features planting varieties Auxis
Planting seedlings produced in the spring or autumn. In the first case, April is considered the optimal month, when the threat of frost has already passed, and the earth is still saturated with moisture. In the autumn, planting is best done in September, so that the plant has time to take root before the first frost.
Important! The tree does not have the ability to self-pollinate, therefore, it needs to be adjacent to other varieties.
For planting, a pit 60 cm deep and 100 cm in diameter should be prepared. The top layer of the earth must be mixed with humus. After a seedling is placed in the center of the hole, a hole is poured with this mixture, after which abundant watering is performed.Proper planting of apple trees: 1 - laying a seedling in a trench; 2 - a seedling dug for the winter.
This variety has no special care requirements. But in order to get a rich harvest every year, it is necessary to adhere to the norms of irrigation, in sufficient quantities to fertilize and prune in time.
Watering the apple tree
Watering is carried out according to the scheme: 1 bucket of water equals 1 year after planting an apple tree. The number of buckets should be increased in dry weather.
Watering is necessary three times a year:
- after the fruits are tied (early summer);
- during fruit ripening (midsummer);
- before preparing for wintering (end of autumn).
In the case of a snowy winter, you can add the 4th watering during the formation of the kidneys.
To get a high yield and for the prevention of various diseases, it is necessary to feed the tree twice a year, starting from the second year after planting. In the spring, mineral fertilizers are applied, in the autumn - organic. Fertilizers should be applied to a depth of 25 cm for young plants and up to 45 cm for adults. It is also possible to additionally fertilize by spraying foliage.
Crown trimming and shaping
For 3-4 years after planting, it is recommended to begin forming pruning. It is produced in spring and autumn; branches growing inside the crown are removed.You should also remove damaged branches and shoots, which can become a breeding ground for pathogenic microflora.The pruning scheme of the apple tree.
After all unnecessary branches have been removed, it is necessary to coat the trunk with lime as a protection against rodents and wintering insects. In addition, it is necessary to mulch the earth around the tree using a mixture of pine needles, compost or humus, dry foliage. Young apple trees can be insulated with the trunk using burlap or any material that allows air to pass through.
Did you know? Apples do not drown, since 25% of their volume is air.
Diseases and Pests
Auxis is particularly susceptible to attacks by pests such as spider mites, apple weevil, apple moth, caterpillar leafworm. For the fight, spraying with special chemicals is carried out. It must be performed in the spring, until the ovary appears. In addition to pest attacks, the apple tree is unstable to various diseases. Methods and means of control are selected based on what disease struck the tree.
|Scab||Insecticide treatment, destruction of fallen leaves.|
|Powdery mildew||Spraying a tree with sulfur-lime mortar.|
|Fruit rot||Destruction of fallen leaves and fruits, treatment with fungicides.|
|Soot fungus||Processing with copper soap solution.|
Trees that provide adequate care are less likely to be affected and are attacked by pests. As a preventive measure, it is necessary to clean old foliage in time, mulch the earth with coniferous needles, trim the plants in a timely manner, and properly and in sufficient quantities to top dress.
Harvesting and storage methods
